Position Opening: Confined Space Rescue Team
Are you a rescue professional with fire service, EMS, military, or Safety and Health experience looking for additional work or to join the occupational health and safety industry? If so, PLS Safety may have an opportunity for you. We are seeking active or retired health and safety professionals to work on either a part-time or full-time basis.

As a member of our rescue team and staff, you will be responsible for providing various safety and rescue services for the Company and clients. As a part-time team member, you will be tasked to on site duties designed to meet client needs. Common duties include but are not limited to:

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a member of our rescue team and staff, you will be responsible for providing various safety and rescue services for the Company and clients. As a part-time team member, you will be tasked to on site duties designed to meet client needs. Common duties include but are not limited to:
- Helping the client assess potential hazards and establishing safe work practices.
- Assisting with the development of rescue pre-plans.
- Developing relevant hazard controls and emergency contingency plans.
- Reviewing confined space and other applicable work permits.
- Carrying out safe work briefings with the client and any contract workers.
- Coordinating with and leading PLS Safety’s confined space attendant personnel.
- Performing work area inspections and stopping any unsafe work activities.
- Executing non-entry and entry rescues following established procedures and plans.
- Participating in ongoing training.
- Detail reports on performance and productivity after each job for supervisors.
- Driving and/or hauling necessary trucks, trailer, and vehicles to job sites.
- Maintaining vehicles and equipment following and enforcing processes related to rescue materials.
Qualifications:
Each member of PLS Safety’s confined space rescue team meets or exceeds both OSHA and NFPA Technician qualification, and is trained in:
- Confined Space Entry and Rescue
- High- and Low-angle Rope Rescue
- Fall Protection
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Respiratory Protection
- Incident Command Systems
- OSHA 10-hour Outreach
- First Aid/CPR/AED

Position Opening: Confined Space Attendant
(Hole Watch/Fire Watch)
The Confined Space Attendant (Hole Watch) is responsible for identifying an emergency and recognizing the hazards of the confined space and the effects of hazard exposure. Should an emergency arise, the attendant is responsible for summoning emergency services and performing rescue operations he/she is equipped to perform. On the job site, the hole watch attendant is the first line of defense in the event of and in the prevention of an emergency.

Starting Pay Rate: The starting pay rate for this position is $18.00 per hour. *This is currently a reoccurring, temporary position employed on a project-to-project basis.

- Maintaining a count of authorized entrants in the permit space
- Remaining attentive outside the space until relieved by another attendant
- Assessing activities inside and outside the space
- Summoning rescue and other emergency services in case of an emergency, dangerous situation, apparent hazard exposure, or if safety is compromised.
- Performing non-entry rescue as specified by PLS Safety Team
- Warning/advising unauthorized personnel to vacate the permit space.
- Assisting with the development of rescue pre-plans
- Helping the client assess potential confined space hazards and establishing safe work practices. • Participating in ongoing training

- Confined Space Work
- Fall Protection Safety
- General Fire Safety
- Site Hazard Recognition
